Ten agencies within the Labor Department released publications to help clarify workers’ rights and employers’ responsibilities.
The U.S. Department of Labor announced a new set of policies to support American workers, job creators, and retirees. Ten agencies within the Department of Labor, including the Center for Faith, the Employee Benefits Security Administration, the Employment and Training Administration, the Bureau of International Labor Affairs, and the Veterans’ Employment and Training Service, released policies and resources as part of the celebration of Labor Day, to help workers understand their rights and employers understand their obligations.
Acting Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling commended the U.S. labor force in the United States, stating, “American workers are the greatest workers in the world. For 250 years, their skill, ingenuity, determination, and hard work have built the greatest nation and most powerful economy the world has ever known.“
He continued that on Labor Day “we celebrate the American workers, job creators, retirees, and unions who have built, manufactured, invented, and always outwork the rest of the world and who will lead America into its next 250 years.”
